Ingebar's Giant Schnauzers Dog Breeder
have played a major role in my life for as long as I can remember, so much so that I've had a
very rewarding career working with them. My initial introduction to the Giant Schnauzer breed came when I attended
my first dog show as a child. I thought it was the most beautiful dog I'd ever seen and became
In 1980 I bought my first giant and have been "in the breed" ever since. I've spent the last 22 years
being immersed in this breed and find they've taken over my life. The qualities of our breed that I find most
My interest started as an infatuation and has grown to become a major passion. I've made it my mission
to learn as much as I can about the breed and utilized as many resources as possible. I've
had the good fortune to become acquainted with some of the top breeders (not just Giants)
worldwide and they have been a great source of information regarding pedigrees, health issues, histories,
and combining bloodlines. I've come to understand and appreciate the strengths in both European and
American Giants, striving to reproduce and improve the best qualities by blending the top bloodlines
available today. By visiting the top giant kennels in the world, I have been able to see for myself
many of the most famous dogs of our time. These contacts have given me the opportunity to import some excellent
examples of our breed, bringing to this country animals that are making a positive impact today.
- Their intelligent, unique personalities
(they seem to think with a human brain)
- Absolute love and devotion to their families
- Instinctive guarding abilities.
Our dogs have earned a prominent place in the Giant Schnauzer world by making contributions as
significant sires, dams, showdogs, and beloved family companions. In these past 22 years I
have owned, bred, or shown over 70 AKC Champions. Ingebar stud dogs have been used extensively
by many top breeders, producing many champions including the #1, #2, and #3 ranked Giants here
in the United States for 2001 and the #1 and #2 Giants for 2002. CH Ingebar's Uri Geller was the
U.S.A. top producer for 2001, and at this writing he is the sire of 27 champions including 3 times
National Specialty winner, CH Rusters the Dark Command ("Koal"). My goal as a breeder is to
improve with each generation, looking to the future to leave a positive legacy.
Our puppies are home-raised with health and temperament of utmost importance. We believe in using all
appropriate health clearances and guaranteeing against life-threatening health problems. If you are
interested in acquiring a Giant, we strive to match the right dog with your household. Considering
each dog's temperament, disposition, and trainability is an important factor in making positive
matches. We're always keeping in mind the prospective owner's experience, activity, and energy
level. We believe in happy endings, and we've had many!!!!
